They will not allow contract cancellation!
Safe Home Security stole out of my checking account
SAFE HOME SECURITY INC
Be sure to document everything and send all mail correspondence return receipt requested. Don't plan on using the recorded order confirmation you probably participated in when you originally signed up, it does not exist. I'm finally out of the contract and received a...
They are charging me $10 more than the contracted amount. I ended up in their collection department, partially because of a mistake I made and partially because of more than one mistake the billing deptmartment made. Their collection dept is harder to get out of than catching up a credit card with a high interest rates and all the monthly fees you can imagine. I have paid monthly amounts, lump sums, as well as certified check paying the balance due plus two months ahead and I am still in theire collection dept.
I am confident this is because their collection employees are commisioned. The employees speak to you with total dissrespect and you dare not try to complian, this I'm sure is the other reason I can not get out of the collection dept. You can not buy out of the contract at a discounted rate (as you can with AT&T and other corperations). I sent a letter a year in advance to be sure this contract will not renew and of course they do not have it on file.
I was given bad email addresses (vhallowell1629@***.com). I have received harassing phone calls on my cell phone and while at work. I have called at 6:45 to be told " we getting ready to leave, you'll have to call back tomorrow". I started that call, as I always start any call, with "Hi, how are you".
The responce was "who are you". I have only one blemish on my credit report and it is from SAFE HOME SECURITY INC. I spoke with two representatives on two occasions in an attempt to follow the chain of command, they both said they would do a credit repair if I agreed to pay a certain amount. I paid that amount, the agreement changed and I could not get either person that made the aggreements on the phone again.
This can't be legal! To the person making positive comments on the "Complaints Board", I'm guessing you are employeed or have some sort of inerest in SAFE HOME SECURITY INC. .... Your damage controle efforts should start with in your company!!!
You can and should contact your States Atty Generals office as well as the Atty Generals office of Connecticut.
I am reasearching a class action law suit as well. I dont care if I get a dime as long as someone of something puts a stop to this and shuts this company down!!!!
Help me get out!
I have a certified letter to get out of contract, will it work? After reading all these complaints I am really concerned.
They also rolled me over and said it was for three years they lied because they can only roll you over for 1 year if you don't cancel 60 days in advance, now they got me to sign another contract for another 3 years, by using lies, and took out the service without telling me, How terrible they are. soon it's up again,....How do I get out of this if there not anwering certified mail?
Unauthorized $199.00 from my checking account

NEVER ENDING CONTRACT!!!! STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

There is so much to say, but I'll remain focused.
This company called in mid-November to ask if we wanted to renew the contract. We did not as we no longer live at that residence. After being told that we did not want to renew, the representative advised that the contract already renewed automatically due to the contract language.
Apparently, if you do not send in written notification before 60 days of the contract expiration, it automatically renews for another year. They are completely inflexible in this.
The inflexibility is only part of the problem. When speaking with the customer service manager, I asked him if he honestly, as a human being, expected a consumer to remember the contract language after 5 years of service, he stated, "yes." Furthermore, he stated that he would have sent in his notification about 1 month after entering into the contract. Sure you would have, Joe...sure you would have.
When asked why the company called 45 days prior to the contract expiration rather than prior to the 60 day deadline, no employee could offer me a valid answer. In fact, there was one representative that simply remained silent. I respect that one the most.
Let it be known that we called about 1 year prior to our contract expiration, my wife callled to cancel our contract due to moving residences. The refused, which I understood. We agreed to a 5 year term--so be it. Nobody informed/reminded us that a written notification was necessary during that call. Also, let it be known that we sent written confirmation, with confirmed receipt, 45 days prior to the expiration. The point is that our intent to renew was clearly documented at the company 1 year prior to the expiration. Still, not good enough for Safe Home Security.
The company takes hard line on this contract renewal. I asked the customer service manager, Joe Octave, why they don't call their customers prior to the 60 day deadline. He didn't have a constructive answer, but the tone of his response was that it is the customer's responsibility. Now, that's customer service, right? The point is, he couldn't be bothered.
I asked him to speak with the manager of the resolution department, Justin Lavoy. Joe came back and advised that Joel's stance was that there was no need for him to speak with me. That simply didn't do. I called Justin and left a less than cordial voicemail about his failure to serve his customers and his appauling refusal to speak with a customer. That's your job, Justin.
Justin actually called me right back. When I informed him that his company was not operating with fair business practices, he disagreed. His response was comical. He stated that he thinks his company is being more than fair by "offering another year's worth of service to protect your [my] family." Comical. He actually implied that he was doing me a favor. Pompous!
Well, Justin got reasonable once I informed him that I, and the family that he so wanted to protect, no longer lived at the address with the system. (I and my wife told multiple people this in multiple discussions). I requested emailed confirmation of this; he complied.
Though I have an acceptable resolution to my problem, the fact remains that this company will continue to bully consumers into additional contracts. It seems to be that if your company takes such a hard line on contract language, they should provide customer's with a phone call prior to the 60 day deadline.
My wife and I also had to leave mutliple messages and speak with multiple people to get action. I even had to call the COO of the company. He couldn't be bothered to return my call, of course.
If you are having problems with the company, here are some valid numbers to call:
Main number: 1-80*-833-****
Joe Octave x 1162 (Customer Service "Manager")
Justin Lavoy x 1105 (Resolution Manager)
Shane Manzo x 1100 (somebody that always "in a meeting")
Al Sheehan x 1102 (Chief Operations Officer)
I would recommend that everyone focus their calls on these four people. Other than the satisfaction I would get in them all getting annoyed with a high volume of calls, maybe they will get a clue.

They have called my family members to contact me! This is illegal!
They claimed they were on a reference list which was an out right lie!
I have an attorney working on filing a suit against them! Has anyone had attorneys/collection agency coming after you?
Similar issues.
Sold a 5-yr plan to my 80-yr-old mother.
The system would not function proiperly
and they refused to repair it (for YEARS), yet still expect payment to this day.
You can pretty much ignore their harrassment calls because they usually breach the terms
of their own agreement by not servicing the equipment. So if they breached agreement, don't pay.
This is simply a scamming collections company with security service as a 'front'. They operate under different names
but always look for WHO owns them.
If it is a "David Roman' Stay away.
